Battle of the Brands: Nature's Gate vs. Garnier Fructis

Which brand of shampoo is better for you with regards to containing less toxins: Nature’s Gate or Garnier Fructis?

I will not continue to use this product because of all of the toxins and it is just not worth the risk. Although it is cheaper, it’s not worth the bills (not to mention the mental/physical aspect) of getting cancer or other various diseases. The product that I observed was Garnier Fructis Shampoo which scored 5 out of 10 on toxicity. Some of the key ingredients in the Garnier brand shampoo are PYRIDOXINE HCL which also cause cancer (along with niacinamide, linalool, and FD&C Yellow 6). Pyridoxine HCL also is a developmental and reproductive toxin. Throughout the list you see the four ingredients causing cancer to also cause endocrine disruption, neuro toxicity, allergies/immunotoxicity, organ system toxicity (non-reproductive), Irritation (skin, eyes, or lungs), biochemical or cellular level changes.
I also threw out my bathing soap and deodorant. However, the replacements that I found at the Food Co-op, Nature’s Gate and another soap that states it is 100% biodegradable, scored just as high as the Garnier Fructis (5 out of 10)! The only way to get a real non-toxic shampoo is online and I was going to, except it is $39.95 each before shipping!! You just cannot win. I have not checked the toxicity of my previous deodorant (Old Spice) and compared it with my recently bought deodorant (Tom’s) but hopefully it is not the same result. There are a couple of substitutes online but they are all about the same price. I will probably give in and pay the money now though because it disgusts me that toxins are still produced in products that intentionally give a (false) green image and practice greenwashing instead of making a better product.
